Power outage near Whitewater

Nearly 270 people are without power this afternoon east of Whitewater, according to Grand Valley Power.

The rural cooperative posted on Facebook around 3:40 p.m. that crews are on scene and replacing a failed pole. Due to terrain and weather conditions, it may be late afternoon or early evening before service is restored, according to Grand Valley Power spokesman Bill Byers.

The affected areas include Kannah Creek, Reeder Mesa, Land’s End Road and Blair Road.
