Prince Harry headed to Colo. for Warrior Games

DENVER — Britain’s Prince Harry is headed to Colorado as part of a weeklong visit to the United States.

The prince will attend the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs this weekend. More than 200 wounded servicemen and women from the U.S. and Britain will participate.

The prince’s first official appearance in the state will come Friday evening when he attends a reception hosted the British consul general for Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming, Beverley Simpson. About 100 lawmakers, executives, athletes and university officials have been invited to attend the event at a golf club south of Denver.

Harry recently spent 20 weeks in Afghanistan as co-pilot gunner on an Apache attack helicopter.

He plans another outing with wounded military personnel later this year — a race to the South Pole.
