Ramunno returns to coaching Palisade
Joe Ramunno has been hired as the head football coach at Palisade High School, returning to the program he led to four consecutive state championships.
Ramunno replaces John Arledge, who was released from his coaching contract this winter.
Ramunno went 79-31 at Palisade in 10 seasons, 19-3 in the state playoffs, and won the 3A state title in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997.
Palisade Athletic Director Mike Krueger said Ramunno was chosen from a large regional and local pool of applicants. The former Colorado Mesa University coach will speak at a press conference at the school at 8 a.m. Thursday.
