Recent motel explosion blamed on hash oil extraction

Local police believe that two people were injured when a process to extract hash oil using butane led to an explosion at the Monument Inn on North Avenue on Sunday.

The explosion created a small fire that was extinguished before emergency personnel arrived on scene, police said. Officers also found marijuana inside the room.

Marijuana butane hash oil is created by using butane to extract THC from marijuana to produce THC concentrate, officials said.
