Record rainfall in GJ
In what has already been a wet, cool start to the fall, Grand Junction received a record amount of rainfall on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The 0.39 inches of rain recorded at Grand Junction Regional Airport exceeded the previous record of 0.36 inches, set in 1974, the Weather Service reported.
Showers are expected to linger this afternoon and evening before the area dries out and warms up. The high in Grand Junction on Thursday is expected to reach the low 50s, then climb to around 60 by the weekend.
