Lamrim meditation series continues

A Buddhist meditation class, continuing the series on Lamrim, the stages of the path to enlightenment, will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today at Harris Suites, 619 Main St.

The class offers guided meditations, clear teachings, discussion and refreshments. Cost is $10.

Musician Ginger Millermon to be here

Inspirational “Top 10” recording artist Ginger Millermon will perform during the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday at Calvary Chapel Grand Junction, 492 Morning Glory Lane.

Millermon, a nationally recognized songwriter and recording artist has received radio play on hundreds of stations nationwide. Her concert events and conferences are based on her life-changing testimony and music from her five albums.

Church raises $3,150 for Latimer House

The First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1425 N. Fifth St., has raised $3,150 for Hilltop’s Latimer House.

The proceeds were raised through the sale of 140 tickets for the church’s annual shrimp boil dinner and silent auction.

Pastor Sharyl Peterson will present a check during the 10 a.m. service Sunday to Karla Kitzman, director of Latimer House.

Book of James Bible study starts Oct. 7

All women in the Grand Valley are invited to a six-week Community Bible Study on the book of James beginning at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 7.

Ohr Shalom to have lay-led services

Congregation Ohr Shalom will have lay-led services at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, at 441 Kennedy Ave.

The synagogue is a National Jewish Reform Affiliation and all Jewish backgrounds are welcome.

Religious school will start soon and enrollment is under way.

Round Up event planned at Landmark

Landmark Baptist Church will host Round Up Sunday on Sept. 26, at 2711 Unaweep Ave.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Western outfit to church. After the morning service, food will be served. There will be bump ‘n’ jumps and other activities for children.

Sunday school is at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m.
