Report: ‘Very intoxicated’ robber hits bookstore

A North Avenue bookstore was robbed this morning by an armed suspect described as heavyset and “very intoxicated,” according to initial reports.

It wasn’t clear if the suspect — further described as a white male who was wearing a blue shirt and at one point had a backpack — got away with any cash after brandishing what appeared to be a black handgun at Twice Upon a Time, 2885 North Ave., around 11:30 a.m. At least one witness said he fled on foot south, toward the general area of Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

No injuries were reported. Twice Upon a TIme sells used books.
