RESULTS: U.S. Congress, District 3

Encumbent U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton holds a comfortable lead over his Republican primary opponent, Palisade peach grower David Cox after the first round of results tallied this evening.

After the first round of votes, Tipton has 73 percent to Cox’s 27 percent.

Former state lottery director Abel Tapia, who ran unopposed in the Democrat primary, will be the opponent in November’s election.
