Reward offered in police officer shooting

LOVELAND — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for shooting a Loveland police officer.

Authorities searched a Loveland apartment on Monday, but didn’t make any arrests.

Police say officer Garret Osilka (oh-SIL’-kuh) was wounded on Sunday during a traffic stop, and he is expected to survive.

Police say the 36-year-old officer was shot and returned fire. It’s not known if a suspect was hit, but hospitals have been told to be on the lookout for someone with a gunshot wound.
