Road near Cosgrove fire closed
The team managing the Cosgrove fire in the Little Bookcliffs Wilderness Study Area has closed Round Mountain Road from Low Gap East. The action is being taken for firefighter and public safety.
Originally reported Sunday, the Cosgrove fire is believed to be lightning-caused. Since then, it has swelled to around 400 acres, according to Norm Rooker, spokesman with Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management.
The Little Bookcliffs area is about eight miles north of Grand Junction.
