UPDATE: Robbery reported at Horizon Drive bank

Authorities are looking for a masked man who reportedly robbed First National Bank of the Rockies, 685 Horizon Drive, this afternoon.

The suspect was reported by witnesses to be a white male, unknown age, heavy-set, with a pot belly, according to Grand Junction police radio traffic. He was wearing a dark-colored, button-up shirt, as well as a black baseball cap with white paneling on it but no logo. He also had dark pants.

The man’s face was covered by a white mask.

The robbery occurred around 2:15 p.m. Initial reports seemed to indicate the robber got away with money but didn’t show a weapon.

Residents are being advised to stay out of the area, as Grand Junction police officers have shut down roads while they set up a perimeter and investigate.
