Second round of snow in Colorado before storm moves on

DENVER — Colorado Department of Transportation snowplow drivers are busy cleaning up a second round of snow in parts of the Front Range before a storm system moves out.

Snow fell in the Denver area Wednesday night into Thursday morning, and transportation officials were reporting new snow Thursday night on Interstate 70 in the mountains, in northwest Colorado, and on the Interstate 25 corridor from Wyoming to Walsenburg in northern Colorado.

Officials at Denver International Airport reported no major delays or cancellations due to the weather, but planes sometimes stopped for de-icing.

The storm that began Wednesday night provoked an impromptu snowball fight that drew scores of students out to the University of Colorado Boulder’s Farrand Field in the dark.
