Shelter-in-place at Rocky Mountain Elementary, bus routes affected

Rocky Mountain Elementary School students will not be released as normal today from the school, according to School District 51.

Parents who wish to pick up their students must show their ID when they arrive at the school. Parents are asked to come to the north side of the building to retrieve their children.

A shelter-in-place was ordered for Rocky Mountain this afternoon because of a law enforcement issue in the area, according to the school district.

Consequently, certain bus routes from Mt. Garfield Middle School and Palisade High School will not be running. Those routes are No.‘s 47, 66, 68 and 90 at Palisade High and No.s’ 84, 104, 106, and 114 from Mt. Garfield Middle.

Parents will need to pick their students up at their respective schools, District 51 said in a tweet.
