Sheriff’s Department: No charges filed in pit bull attack on infant

Mesa County Sheriff’s Department will not press charges in a case in which an eight-month-old infant was attacked by the family’s pit bull on Tuesday night.

Officials with the department determined the circumstances in the case are not criminal, the Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

The infant’s injuries are unknown. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Ronlin Street.

The dog is in custody of Mesa County Animal Services.
