Sheriff’s deputy seriously injured in crash
PUEBLO — A 33-year-old Costilla County sheriff’s deputy is recovering after he was seriously injured in a crash involving a tractor trailer.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports (http://bit.ly/14ikV3h ) deputy Keith Schultz was headed south on Highway 150 in an unmarked sheriff’s vehicle Friday afternoon when he crashed into the truck. Authorities say he was passing the tractor trailer when it unexpectedly turned into a gravel pit.
Schultz is recovering at a Denver hospital.
