Shooting at halfway house leaves 2 wounded

ENGLEWOOD — Authorities say a former client who walked away from a halfway house corrections facility is suspected of shooting an employee and a resident.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said both people were wounded when a man walked into the facility early Friday and started shooting.

Deputies say the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The sheriff’s department says the halfway house is a contracted facility for the Colorado State Department of Corrections to help prisoners work their way back into society.
