Small plane crashes near Mack

A single-engine airplane apparently crash-landed at the Mack Mesa Airport late this afternoon. Nobody was seriously injured, according to authorities.

Initial reports indicated the plane went off the end of the runway at the airport, located at 1048 R Road. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were on board. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department posted on its Facebook page just before 6 p.m. that the aircraft “didn’t quite have the landing they expected. Everyone walked away. Thankfully!”

Federal Aviation Administration records show the Cirrus SR22 is registered to Trans Med LLC out of Casper, Wyo.

A Daily Sentinel reporter and photographer are en route to the scene. Read the full story in Tuesday’s Daily Sentinel.
