UPDATE: 5 believed to be on plane that crashed into reservoir

It is believed five people were aboard a small plane that crashed into Ridgway Reservoir today but no survivors have been found, an official with Ouray County Emergency Management said.

The crash was reported shortly before 2 p.m. and crews spent most of the afternoon recovering the plane and looking for survivors before ending search efforts at 7 p.m.

Those efforts will resume Sunday morning, and Colorado State Parks has closed Ridgway Reservoir until recovery efforts and any clean-up of spilled fuel and debris is finished, Ouray County Emergency Management said.

The plane was en route from Oklahoma to Montrose, said Ian Gregor, Federal Aviation Administration Pacific Division spokesman.
