Snow expected to continue into evening

The Grand Valley continues to be under a Winter Storm Warning, according to the National Weather Service, with as much as two to three additional inches expected to fall over the course of the day.

That would bring area snow totals to between 6 and 8 inches, according to the service.

“Widespread snow will continue today and into this evening as a cold and vigorous storm system moves across the area. Additional accumulations are expected, with snow continuing along the southern edge into Thursday morning. Also, very cold temperatures will develop tonight and on Thursday as the snow winds down. Then conditions will stay well below normal through the weekend,” an advisory from the weather service reads.

The storm warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. this evening.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also possible, making travel very hazardous.
