Snowstorm closes Colo. highway to Wyoming

WELLINGTON — The Colorado Department of Transportation has closed Interstate-25 from Wellington to the Wyoming border because of ice and snow. The southbound lane is closed from Cheyenne to the border because of an accident.

The National Weather Service said snow is spreading Tuesday over southeast Wyoming and northern Colorado.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for central Wyoming, with up to 5 inches of snow expected.

Up to 3 inches of snow is expected along areas of the Front Range, with even more snow expected in the Colorado mountains, where up to 8 inches of snow is forecast.
