CMU narrows AD search to five
Colorado Mesa University narrowed its search for an athletic director to five finalists Monday, said CMU Chief Financial Officer Pat Doyle, the chairman of the selection committee.
Four of the five are acting athletic directors at college institutions, and one is an associate athletic director at a Division I institution, Doyle said.
“I’m confident the people we invited can do the job,” Doyle said. “We were very fortunate to have a strong pool of candidates.”
Doyle said the committee recently completed 16 phone interviews out of a pool of 48 applicants.
The five final candidates will start to arrive for in-person interviews the week of Feb. 25.
CMU baseball coach Chris Hanks, women’s soccer coach Erin Sharpe, men’s lacrosse coach A.J. Stevens and kinesiology professor Elizabeth Sharp were on the selection committee.
