State patrol cracking down on seatbelts

DENVER — The Colorado State Patrol and authorities in 12 counties are cracking down on drivers and passengers who are not using their seatbelts.

The crackdown is focusing on late and overnight drivers because that’s when a higher percentage of people die in accidents while not wearing their seatbelts.

Last year in Colorado, more than three-quarters of unbuckled deaths were men.
