State track and field meet postponed
The first day of the Colorado high school state track and field championships has been postponed due to a storm that hit the Denver area last night.
With cold temperatures and snow on the track and infield at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood, the decision was made by Colorado High School Activities Association officials to wait a day to start the event.
CHSAA officials said a decision on Friday’s events will be made on Friday morning.
Currently, the postponement of today’s events will push the meet into Sunday.
The state track and field meet is for all classifications and brings together more than 1,000 student-athletes from around the state.
