Storm brings foot of snow to Colo. mountains

DENVER — A fast-moving spring snowstorm that dumped up to 2 inches in the Denver metro area also brought about a foot of snow to some areas of the mountains.
Wintry weather lingered in parts of Colorado today prompting officials to close U.S. Highway 6 at Loveland Pass near the Continental Divide west of Denver.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Kyle Fredin says the heaviest snow from the storm Saturday and early today fell on the central and northern mountains at elevations 10,000 and higher
