UPDATE: I-70 back open, suicidal suspect on the 29 Road overpass allegedly in custody

The interstate is back open at the 29 Road overpass after police took into custody a suicidal man who forced the closure of the highway.

Radio traffic began reporting about 6:50 p.m. tonight about a man causing a disturbance on the 29 Road overpass of Interstate 70.

Officers at the scene did not believe the man to be armed.

Police for a time closed the westbound lanes of the interstate.

The overpass at 29 Road is an interstate crossing that does not allow either entry or exit to the highway. A small-two lane road crosses the interstate there.

Check back for details as they become available.
