Survivors mark wildfire anniversary

DENVER — Survivors of the Lower North Fork wildfire are marking the one-year anniversary of the blaze.

Some of the residents who suffered losses are upset over a decision by state officials making it difficult to get compensation and they are airing their grievances Tuesday at the state Capitol.

The state-set fire in Colorado killed three people.

Lawmakers passed a bill raising the damage cap for people suing state government, but would only apply to damages occurring after June 30, 2013.

The fire broke out on March 26, 2012.
