Tancredo may be considering run for governor
The Rothenberg Political Report is reporting on its website today that former Republican congressman and one-time presidential candidate Tom Tancredo may be considering running for Colorado governor as an independent.
He told the website he’s doing so because neither GOP candidate for governor, Scott McInnis or Dan Maes is electable.
“We cannot win the governorship in the current environment,” Tancredo said in an interview with the Report on Wednesday, “The two Republican primary candidates are not electable.”
Both GOP candidates have come under fire recently. McInnis for admitting to plagiarizing a Colorado Supreme Court justice, and Maes for agreeing to pay a $17,500 fine for campaign finance problems.
