Teen accident kills tire shop worker

COMMERCE CITY — A 15-year-old worker at a tire shop hit and killed a co-worker while moving a car onto a ramp in a garage.

Commerce City Police Lt. Dennis Moon says the youth was moving the car Thursday evening when he lost control.

The youth is the son of the shop owner and the 27-year-old victim was a close family friend. Police did not identify the boy or the victim.

Authorities tell KUSA-TV it is legal for someone without a driver’s license or insurance to drive on private property.
