Telluride ski instructor named ‘Instructor of the Year’
Veteran Telluride Ski Resort instructor Richard Thorpe has been named the 2009-2010 “Ski/snowboard Instructor of the Year” by Colorado Ski Country USA. Thorpe received his award earlier this month during the Colorado Ski Country Double Diamonds Award dinner at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
Thorpe, a native Californian, haas been teaching skiing in Telluride since 2000. He is Level 3 Alpine instructor, is accredited as both a basic freestyle and children’s instructor, and is a Telluride ski school staff trainer.
“I am truly honored to receive this award from Colorado Ski Country,” said Thorpe. “It is so nice to be recognized amongst my peers and the industry as ‘Instructor of the Year’”.
Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) is the not-for-profit trade association representing Colorado’s 22 ski and snowboard resorts.
