Toddler who nearly drowned now doing well
The aunt of a 16-month-old boy who nearly drowned in a bucket of water at her Fruitvale home says the toddler is doing well and should recover fully.
Tessa Miller said today her nephew is in fair condition at Children’s Hospital in Denver and is being held for observation.
“The baby is fine. He has nothing wrong with him,” Miller said.
A previous story incorrectly indicated Miller and her husband, Joshua, are the boy’s mother and father.
The toddler was flown to Children’s Hospital Thursday afternoon after Joshua Miller found the boy face-down in a 5-gallon bucket of water used to water the Millers’ dogs. The boy was initially reported to be unconscious and not breathing, but Joshua Miller and emergency medical personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and were able to get him breathing again.
