Traffic advisory issued for northwest Colorado
The Colorado Department of Transportation has issued a traffic advisory for parts of northwest Colorado through the weekend.
Maintenance crews from CDOT will work 12 hour snow shifts along Interstate 70. Up to 10 inches of snow could fall on some mountain passes including Vail Pass and Straight Creek near the Eisenhower Tunnel.
McClure Pass on Colorado Highway 133 is expecting 8 inches. The area surrounding Grand Mesa on Colorado Highway 65 is expected to receive 6 inches.
Grand Junction could get up to 4 inches, the department said.
Motorists should expect icy conditions due to freezing temperatures. CDOT is advising drivers to exercise caution on bridges, overpasses and ramps.
