Tumbling rock in Glenwood Canyon slows traffic
A rock roughly the size of a Volkswagen crashed down into the westbound lane of traffic on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon, slowing traffic in the area this morning.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said the rock caused minor roadway damage and did not hit any vehicles. As of 11 a.m., crews were in the process of breaking it up for removal.
One lane of westbound traffic around mile marker 122.9, two miles west of Hanging Lake Tunnel, remained closed as of 11:30 a.m.
