Two jailed for suspected drug dealing near school
Two men were arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of dealing drugs from a home within 50 yards of Orchard Mesa Middle School.
Edward Portillo, 22, and Roman Portillo-Perez, 51, were arrested after Western Colorado Drug Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a home located at 2741 Cheyenne Dr., according to a Task Force news release.
Officers allegedly recovered roughly an ounce of cocaine, trace amounts of marijuana, suspected drug paraphernalia and other items associated with dealing, according to an arrest affidavit. A handgun was found in the garage, the affidavit said.
Portillo, who is currently serving parole, also had a young child living with him at the home, the affidavit said.
