Two arrested on suspicion of dealing Ecstasy

Two men were arrested Thursday on suspicion of drug-related charges after Grand Junction police acted on a tip about a Mesa State College student allegedly dealing Ecstasy from his on-campus residence, according to arrest affidavits.

Dalton James Gettel, 19, and Keeffe Zebadiah Carvelli, 19, were arrested and booked into the Mesa County Jail on suspicion of distribution and possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to redacted arrest affidavits released by Grand Junction police, officers received an anonymous tip earlier this month claiming Gettel was dealing Ecstasy while living on Mesa State’s campus.

An unidentified third party called police around 5:30 p.m. Thursday and claimed Gettel had agreed to sell three tabs of the drug for $15 each in a deal to happen outside a Horizon Drive business, according to the affidavits.

The affidavit said officers followed Gettel’s car and stopped it as they pulled into Pizza Hut, 705 Horizon Drive. Carvelli was a passenger in the car.

Two baggies of Ecstasy were allegedly found in the center console of the car, the affidavit said.

Carvelli was free Friday afternoon after posting $10,000 bond. As of late Friday afternoon, Gettel remained in custody on an identical bond.
