Vandals hit dozens of vehicles in Pear Park
At least three dozen vehicles were damaged Friday night or early Saturday in Pear Park, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
Most of the cars were parked in a three-square-mile area between 30 and 32 roads and D and E roads. Six of the damage reports came from Dry Fork Way, just south of D Road and east of 31 Road. One car was also damaged just east of 32 Road on D 3/4 Road.
No suspects have been arrested. Mesa County sheriff’s investigators were looking for a single suspect or one group of suspects for all the damage incidents, Mesa County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Mary Gonzalez said Sunday.
“They’re pretty sure it’s related,” she said.
Damage included smashed headlights and taillights and broken or torn-off side mirrors. Damage per car was estimated from $40 to $1,080, according to their owners.
The reports of vandalized cars rolled in steadily between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. Deputies spotted an additional damaged truck while investigating the area and alerted a person at the address.
The incidents occurred on 30 Road, 30 3/4 Road, Casey Way, Colorado Avenue, D 3/4 Road, Dry Fork Way, Grand Valley Drive, Hill Avenue, Hill Court, Hill Drive, McMullin Drive, Meadow Lane, Meadowvale Way, Mohawk Avenue, Moonlight Drive, Mountainside Lane, Santee Street and Sundown Drive.
