RSSVisitor center open house Saturday at Highline Lake
The staff at Highline Lake State Park is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the park’s new visitor center. Funded with Great Outdoors Colorado and Colorado Lottery dollars, the building offers a new facility to better serve visitors to the park.
The visitor center carries a wide range of park merchandise including T-shirts, fleece jackets, and hats. All retail merchandise will be 20-percent off the tagged price during Saturday’s open house. Boat, off-highway vehicles and snowmobile registrations and renewals are available at the visitor center, as well as all passes.
The visitor center also includes a conference room available for public use and a mounted telescope near the picture windows to view the heron rookery across the lake and the snag on the west side, which is a popular perch for eagles, osprey, hawks and others birds of prey.
