Westbound I-70 reopened west of Glenwood Springs
Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened after having been closed west of Glenwood Springs this morning due to one or more accidents, authorities say.
The Colorado Department of Transportation says at http://www.cotrip.org that the closure occurred at 10:49 a.m. “because of accident.” The Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority said in an e-mail notice to residents that the closure, starting at mile maker 114 in west Glenwood Springs, is due to accidents in South Canyon.
CDOT said all lanes were reopened by about 12:20 p.m.
Roads in the canyon remain slippery due to this week’s snowstorm.
