Wheatley tapped as interim head at monument

Michelle Wheatley, a 15-year veteran with the National Park Service, will be interim superintendent of Colorado National Monument.

Wheatley will take over on July 2, the day after current Superintendent Joan Anzelmo retires, and will head the monument until a permanent superintendent is appointed.

Now the chief of interpretation, education and visitor services, Wheatley has previously worked at Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain national parks.
