Woman drives onto middle school campus

DURANGO — A Durango teacher says he pushed children out of a car’s path after a woman drove onto a middle school campus.

Sophia Casuse was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and driving on a revoked license.

According to the Durango Herald, the woman drove down a service road before nearly hitting several children at Miller Middle School on Tuesday.

History and art teacher John Wade says he pushed several children who were waiting for a turn on a basketball court out of harm’s way.
