UPDATE: Bond set at $50K for pregnant stabbing suspect
A woman wanted by Grand Junction police in connection with a stabbing last week was arrested Wednesday night in Montrose.
Crystal Dawn Reinbold, 21, surrendered to Montrose County Sheriff’s deputies and was booked into the Mesa County Jail just before 8 p.m.
An attorney representing Reinbold told a judge this afternoon that Reinbold, who is pregnant, turned herself in after seeking seeking prenatal care at Montrose Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
Reinbold had been wanted on suspicion of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the March 25 stabbing of 24-year-old Katy Slawson at a park on Orchard Mesa.
Slawson suffered stab wounds to her back and neck in what authorities allege was a fight between the two women over another man, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Reinbold was ordered jailed on $50,000 bond.
