Woman, 42, identified in fatal shooting in Pear Park
A 42-year-old Pear Park woman, Crystal Nash, died after a shooting in the 3000 block of Rood Avenue early Sunday, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.
The Coroner’s Office did not release the manner and cause of Nash’s death because the investigation by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
The Sheriff’s Department has said one person died and another was injured in a shooting on the block early Sunday morning.
The name of the injured person and the circumstances surrounding the incident have not been released. Police are not looking for a suspect, and no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Police all day Sunday were investigating the area outside of 3007 Rood Ave.
Neighbors said they witnessed numerous people attending a Halloween party at the address and shots were fired at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Mesa County Assessor’s Office, the home at 3007 Rood Ave. is owned by James Jarvis, and the home across the street at 438 Colorow Drive is owned by Forrest and Crystal Nash.
Neighbors in the area said Monday that residents of both homes and a man named “Tom” at 3007 Rood Ave. had a history of bickering with one another.
In the past five years, the Sheriff’s Department has responded once to both homes.
In March 2007, deputies took a report of harassment from a resident in the home at 3007 Rood Ave.
In September 2008, deputies took a report of theft from a resident in the home at 438 Colorow Drive.
