‘A Chorus Line’ to be presented

The cast of “A Chorus Line” prepares for performances that are set for Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17–18, at Grand Junction High School auditorium. “A Chorus Line” is presented by The Theatre Project and is rated R.

“A Chorus Line” — a musical within a musical — will be presented by The Theatre Project at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17–18, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Grand Junction High School auditorium, 1400 N. Fifth St.

“A Chorus Line” follows the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in a Broadway musical and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration, a news release said.

With 17 determined dancers, and only eight spots available in the Broadway musical, “it is a brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song and compellingly authentic drama,” the release said.

The show is rated R because of adult language and content.

Tickets to “A Chorus Line” cost $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Advance tickets are available at TheatreProjectGJ.com or can be purchased at the door. The box office opens one hour prior to show time.

Call 261-5363 or go to TheatreProjectGJ.com for information.

The Theatre Project is an adult community theatre company that performs professional quality theater and music theater productions throughout the year.

Proceeds from the shows benefit the Youth Theatre Project, a tuition-free theater and dance program for youth in the Grand Valley.
