‘A Fairy Tale Christmas’ on display in Parade of Lights

Children wave to the crowd on the Cub Scouts 342 troop from Grand Junction near the end of the Parade of Lights in 2007. This year’s event takes place Saturday, Dec. 1 in downtown.

“A Fairy Tale Christmas” is the theme of this year’s Parade of Lights set for Saturday, Dec. 1, on Main Street.

More than 100 entries are expected in this dazzling display that will travel along Main Street from Eighth Street to First Street and will thrill young children and children at heart.

The parade will start at 5 p.m., but come early as the Winterfest celebration will begin at 11 a.m. Winterfest will feature nonprofit organizations selling holiday treats and hot drinks.
