‘Ain’t We Got Fun!’ at Grand Junction High School
The young-at-heart members of the Grand Junction Senior Theatre are ready to present their 19th production, “Ain’t We Got Fun!,” featuring an all-cast chorus, singing duos and trios, dancers, monologues and skits.
The variety show is a tribute to the founding of the organization and its earliest variety show productions, a news release said. “Front Page Follies,” the inaugural show, was performed in 1996, and “Playing the Palace” was performed 1997, at Avalon Theatre.
Shows will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 21–22, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Grand Junction High School, 1400 N. Fifth St. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at Albertsons and City Market stores, Roper Music, from members of the cast and at the door.
Long-time Senior Theatre members Ken Coulson and Laura Mockler were part of the group’s first production and also will appear in “Ain’t We Got Fun!” the release said.
Coulson will reprise his Charleston dance from 1996’s “Front Page Follies,” and Mockler will perform in several sketches, including as a “lady of the night,” to the tune of “Hey, Big Spender.”
