‘Almost, Maine’ to be on stage at CMU

Chad (Christopher Wells) shouts at Randy (Ben Carlson) not to mess with him in “They Fell…,” one of nine vignettes in the comedy “Almost, Maine” that will be presented at Colorado Mesa University’s Robinson Theatre on Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 14–17.

The mythical town of Almost, Maine, is the setting for the next stage production from Colorado Mesa University’s theater department.

A charming look at love in comedy, “Almost, Maine” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 14–17, in Moss Performing Arts Center’s Robinson Theatre, 1231 N. 12th St.

A news release from CMU summarizes the plot:

“On a moonless winter’s night in the mythical town of Almost, Maine, all is not quite what it seems,” according to a news release from the university. “As the northern lights hover overhead, nine couples fall in and out of love in unpredictable and sometimes hilarious ways.”

As play explores “the mysteries of heartbreak and hope, this is a show that will have you roaring with laughter, sighing with contentment and recognition and even shedding a tear,” the release said.

The play, written by John Cariani, is rated PG for adult situations.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $6 for students. Purchase tickets by calling the box office at 248-1604 or go to coloradomesa.edu/moss/theatretickets.html.
