‘An Evening of Harold Pinter’ opens theater season at CMU

Colorado Mesa University will open its theater season with several one-act plays directed by a senior theater major.

Chance Morgan, a double major in acting/directing and design/technology, will direct “An Evening of Harold Pinter” with performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 15–17, in the Mesa Experimental Theatre in CMU’s Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.

Pinter was a 20th century playwright and Nobel Prize winner. “His plays specialize in surreal, dark humor and are fueled by intense dialogue, disconnected from much exposition,” according to a news release from CMU.

“Pinter once described his work as an analysis of ‘the powerful and the powerless,’” the news release said.

These one-act plays are rated PG-13.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors or $5 for students.

Call the box office at 248-1604 for tickets and information.
