Busy art week for the valley

It’s a busy art week, and that’s news worth repeating.

“Repetition,” an exhibition of painting and ceramics by Heather Patterson and KyoungHwa Oh, is on display at the Colorado Mesa University Art Galley in the University Center.

“The exhibit emphasizes repetition found in forms in both the natural and built environments,” according to a news release. “Patterson and Oh intermingle these elements to create their own imaginary landscape of textual pattern.”

A reception for the exhibit will be from 6–8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. The exhibit will be open through Dec. 13. Gallery hours are noon–4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 248-1833 for information.

■ Artwork by Piera Kllanxhja, Ashtonn Means, Bryan Sanford and Wendy Gill will be featured at the Rye Gallery and an opening reception will be from 7–9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. The gallery is at 201 E. Aspen Ave. in Fruita.

Visitors will see sculpture, crystal glazed porcelain pottery, monotypes and more. Call 435-724-7387 for information.

■ Photographer Steve Traudt is the featured artist for November at The Blue Pig Gallery, 101 W. Third St. in Palisade. Traudt will present a slide show of works on Sunday, Nov. 11. Go to http://www.thebluepiggallery.com or call 464-4819 for information.

■ The Creamery Arts Center will have an opening reception for its November exhibits from 6–8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at 165 W. Bridge St., in Hotchkiss. ■ Pastels, oils, pottery, glass and more will be on display and for sale during the HeART for the Community event from 4–8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 26 1/2 and H roads. ■ Paintings by Katie Hill are on display through Nov. 30 at the Fruita Civic Center lobby, 325 E. Aspen Ave., in Fruita.
