■ Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. If seating is available, tickets can be purchased at the box office. Adult tickets cost $25 and student tickets cost $15.

The Grand Valley art scene owns the first Friday of every month, but visual art enthusiasts have a chance to explore the valley art scene at the end of the month, as well.

Here are a few upcoming events:

■ Fruita Fourth Friday will go from 5–9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at eight locations in downtown Fruita, showcasing visual art, local authors and live music.

The participating locations are: Aspen Street Coffee, Cavalcade, Copper Club Brewing, Cornerstone Mortgage, Hot Tomato, Rose Hue Gallery, Rye Gallery and Turn the Page Used Bookstore.

■ An opening reception for the new exhibit “Between Here and There” will be from 6–8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in the Art Gallery at the University Center at Colorado Mesa University.

The exhibit, featuring local fiber artists Mary Hertert and Nancy Dobson, is a collaboration from the two artists about their different interpretations of Anchorage, Alaska, and Grand Junction.

■ There will be a preview of KAFM’s Art & Other Treasures auction from 5–7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at DoubleTree Hotel Ballroom, 734 Horizon Drive.

The preview gives people a chance to see the array of art, collectibles, jewelry, entertainment packages and more that will be up for auction at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1.
