Aspen considers buying more water

ASPEN — The Aspen City Council wants to buy water from Ruedi Reservoir to give officials flexibility if water becomes more scarce.

Aspen is one of 18 groups who want to buy unsold water from the reservoir.

According to the Aspen Daily News, the deal must be approved by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The sale could help pay debt for building the reservoir.
