BBQ Blues Festival set for Gateway Canyons
Don’t let the end-of-summer blues get you down.
Get up and out for a full day of well-known blues bands, art vendors and barbecue specialties at the BBQ Blues Festival on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Gateway Canyons Resort’s Mission Bell Amphitheater in Gateway.
The festival will open at 9 a.m. and the bands will start playing at 11 a.m.
On the lineup are: Bobby Walker, 11 a.m. to noon; Big Daddy Lee, 12:30–1:30 p.m.; Once Removed Blues Band, 2–3 p.m.; Steve Crenshaw, 3:30–4:30 p.m.; Kirk James Band, 5–6 p.m.; Hazel Miller Band, 6:30–8 p.m.; and The Williams Brothers Band, 8:30–9:45 p.m. Fireworks are set to light up the sky about 10:15 p.m. and The Williams Brothers Band will then finish playing at 10:30 p.m.
Through the day there will be food and art vendors at the festival.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased at City Market stores.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, a program that honors and empowers service members injured in the line of duty.
